Partnership: Shoes That Fit

Shoes That Fit is a national organization that tackles one of the most visible signs of poverty in America by giving new athletic shoes to children in need. The organization was first identified by our '23 PHLY Summer Associates who believed the non-profit fully aligns with the mission of the PHLY Foundation. To bring their idea to life and help support the organization's uplifting work, PHLY has donated $200,000 to pay for new pairs of shoes for nearly 2,000 kids. Through this partnership with Shoes That Fit, we are not only giving kids a new pair of shoes, but we are giving them the confidence to walk into their future with their heads held high.

Scoring Big: PHLY and Philadelphia Union Step Up for 200 Student Athletes

In May 2025, Shoes That Fit and PHLY partnered with professional soccer team, Philadelphia Union, to provide brand-new athletic sneakers to over 200 student athletes from Olney High School in Philadelphia.

Students got the chance to tour the Union Stadium, participate in activities, and attend a career-focused panel discussion with Union and PHLY leadership, providing students with a chance to explore future employment opportunities within the sport and insurance industries. Two Union players and the soccer team's beloved mascot, Phang the snake, attended the event to provide extra fun.

This was the fifth event sponsored by PHLY to provide free athletic shoes through Shoes That Fit to school children across the country since 2023.
