PHLY has partnered with The McCalmon Group to offer a Best Practices Help Line as part of The PHLYGateway.

PHLY's Management and Professional Liability Risk Management Gateway (PHLYGateway)

Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY), in partnership with The McCalmon Group, is excited to provide a powerful risk management tool to our Management and Professional Liability (M&PL) policyholders. The PHLYGateway is an online platform that can help mitigate everyday business risks organizations may face. As part of this resource, M&PL policyholders can access the Best Practices Help Line.

PHLYGateway's Best Practices Help Line (BPHL) is a service provided by The McCalmon Group, Inc. that focuses on risk management, loss prevention, and litigation avoidance. The BPHL provides best practice consultations and education via the telephone on how to effectively manage employer-employee relations issues, including:

  • Hiring and Termination
  • Discipline and responding to incidents of wrongdoing
  • Threats of litigation
  • Crisis management
  • Harassment and Discrimination
  • Accommodation Requests, and much more

Scheduling a PHLYGateway BPHL Consultation

PHLYGateway Best Practice Help Line consultations are scheduled during work hours between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday. Most calls can be scheduled on the same business day or within 24 hours of the receipt of the request. There is no limit on call requests or the time on the call.

Consultations are scheduled by completing and signing a request form (you must be logged into MyPHLY to view the form) and then submitting it to The McCalmon Group via email or fax. The required form must be complete and will require your current PHLY policy number, the topic of consultation requested, your location, your top three dates and times for the call, and a signature that will acknowledge:
  • The service is not a method of communicating with PHLY. It is not to be used for giving notice of a claim, for asking questions about the status of a claim, or for any policy coverage or denial issues; and
  • The service does not provide, nor is it a substitute for, legal advice. Although McCalmon best practice consultants are licensed attorneys, no attorney-client relationship or privilege will be established on any call. The consultant may inform the caller of the need to seek legal advice from an attorney in their jurisdiction.

The PHLYGateway Best Practices Help Line is NOT a loss reporting hotline. Claims should be reported using the normal procedures set forth within the PHLY policy. The purpose of the help line is to help prevent a claim from being made or to limit the exposure of a particular insured once he or she is aware of facts and circumstances that might reasonably be expected to lead to a claim.
