Bala Cynwyd, PA, January 2, 2024 - Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY), a leading commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance company for niche markets, announces the promotions of Vice Presidents Kimberly Czap and Douglas Killeen to Senior Vice President.
Ms. Kimberly Czap has served 25 years in the industry and joined PHLY in 2013 as Vice President of Surety Claims, tasked with providing legal counsel to Surety Underwriting and building a team of claim and construction professionals for the Surety Division that launched in 2011. In the last ten years, Ms. Czap has overseen the expansion of the Claims team to include experienced surety examiners, engineers, and accountants. Throughout her career, Ms. Czap has handled complex surety matters and worked closely with underwriters and accounts on mitigating risks. She is a Vice Chair of the American Bar Association Fidelity & Surety Law General Committee, a board member of the Surety Claims Institute and National Bond Claims Association, and a committee member for the Surety Fidelity Association of America. She is also a frequent presenter at industry conferences. Ms. Czap graduated from the University of Memphis magna cum laude with a degree in business administration and a Juris Doctorate.
Mr. Douglas Killeen has served over 30 years in the insurance industry holding a wide variety of roles, including Underwriting Manager, Regional Underwriting Director, Field Underwriting Assistant Vice President, and most recently Vice President of Underwriting. He has been with PHLY for over 20 years in leadership positions across various underwriting divisions, including Specialty Property, Field Underwriting, Human Services, Sports & Recreation, and Public Service. He has helped build successful underwriting teams by hiring and promoting diverse teams of underwriters and managers who embody the PHLY culture. Mr. Killeen holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He has a law degree from the University of Denver and is licensed to practice law in Colorado. He has multiple insurance designations, including his CPCU, ARM, and AIM.
