What is your favorite company sponsored event?

This company is amazingly service oriented. I am so thankful to work for a company that gives us opportunities to volunteer and donate and provide for our community. My favorite event is the annual Walk-For-Life Breast Cancer Awareness weekend. I bring the best chocolate cookies in for the bake sale. (Although they are not always homemade!) We raffle off gift baskets and have vases of flowers for sale too. Later in the evening I also volunteer for the campground event. I bring my two kids, and we have a great time with all the other local companies that get together during the Walk-For-Life Relay. All the money is donated to Breast Cancer Research.

Describe your coworkers.

My colleagues are very bright, dedicated, and take pride in their work. They go "the extra mile" to help one another achieve our common goals. I get along great with my coworkers and feel like we are a part of a winning team.

What company philosophy do you value the most?

• Our determination to always make an Underwriting profit. (a sub - 100% combined ratio for 10 years. The envy of our industry).
• Our Cutting – Edge approach to providing high quality service to our clients through automation. e.g., insured receiving their policies on CDs.
• Our ‘Bottom–up marketing’ approach to product development. (Soliciting the input of everyone who will be affected).
• Our commitment to the development of the whole person.
• As employees we are consistently being encouraged and rewarded to be involved in continuous educational development.
• Employees are constantly being encouraged to be involved in Physical / Mental Wellness Programs.
• We do find time to give back to our community through donations derived from “Employee’s contribution of $1 for wearing JEANS on predetermined Fridays”.

What do you like most about the company?

I like the camaraderie among all of the different divisions within the company. Senior Management has created a culture of "teamwork", which results in everyone striving for the same goals. Every employee of the company has defined job goals, which helps PIC to deliver superior customer service to our clients.

As a company PIC is always looking to improve, and enlists feedback from our employees and clients. I like the fact that the company is always trying to get better. It is fun to work for a company whose management team listens to the needs of their employees.
